The La Mala plot (0. 8 hectare) is a narrow terrace towering high above the Atauta valley on the right bank of the Duero near San Esteban de Gormaz. The soil consists of a thin layer of sand on a 70 cm thick layer of limestone. Average yield per harvest: 950 bottles. 18 month ageing in French oak barrels.
